Funeral Insurance

Funeral insurance is designed to cover the expenses that arise upon the death of the insured.

This type of policy provides a guaranteed insured amount to cover funeral home services, floral arrangements, hearse services, casket, burial or cremation, and many other related expenses.

Funeral insurance has evolved by adapting to the demands of society and has therefore expanded its cover and services to make taking out the policy more attractive.

Today, policies typically cover all administrative procedures related to the death, and some insurers even include online will services or access to medical specialists at competitive rates.

Premium pricing is determined by the insured’s age and city of residence. Depending on how premiums are structured, the following types are available:

  • Natural Premium:

Funeral insurance policies under the natural premium modality are annually renewable policies whose price depends on age. The premium increases as the insured grows older.

  • Level Premium:

The premium generally remains stable over time, although it may increase due to updates in rates or insured capital.

  • Mixed or semi-natural premium:

It is a combination of the level premium and the natural premium. The amount paid increases proportionally over the years until a certain age is reached (approximately 70 years old). From that point onwards, the premium becomes fixed.

  • Single Premium:

A one-time payment option, primarily designed for individuals over 65 or 70 years old who may find it more difficult to obtain other types of funeral insurance.
